Hypothetically, Apple Pay has already been available in Australia. However, the rollout has mostly been stalled by the country’s Big Four banks. The banks have so insisted on negotiating better terms with Apple before offering the service to customers. While one of the banks, ANZ, eventually struck a deal with Apple last year, customers of the others have been left hanging. Now, Apple has banned a key banking feature in another bank, Westpac.
